RALEIGH, N.C. — There is a chance for rain Saturday night and Sunday morning, but the weekend is looking unusually warm and mostly dry, according to WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.

Thursday will be a typical January day, with a high around 50 degrees.

Friday will be a milder day, with a high in the low to mid 60s expected in Raleigh. Saturday and Sunday will both be unseasonably warm, with a high of 70 degrees.

Since the chance for rain doesn't move in until Saturday night, it will be a great day to get outside and enjoy the mild weather.

"Most of Saturday will be dry with a slim chance of rain," Gardner said. "It's going to be cloudy Saturday and there may be a sprinkle or two, but it won't be a big issue."

The greatest chance for rain comes Saturday night and Sunday morning, but the precipitation should move out by lunchtime Sunday.

The new work week will stay mild, with highs in the mid to upper 60s, but there will be a greater chance for rain Monday and Tuesday.
