Winter solstice: what it means, how it's observed
Tuesday will be the shortest day, or the day where the sun spends the least time above the horizon. In Raleigh we'll have 9 hours 44 minutes of daylight, compared to the summer solstice on June 21, 2022 with an expected 14 hours 35 minutes of daylight.
