Fort Bragg, N.C. — A Fort Bragg soldier has been sentenced to eight years in confinement for a wreck last September that killed three other soldiers, authorities said Monday.
Spc. Kern Kevon Barrow was convicted Friday of three specifications of involuntary manslaughter and one specification each of drunken driving, aggravated assault, escape from custody and absence without leave. A military judge also issued a reduction in rank and a bad conduct discharge as part of the sentence.
The Sept. 14 wreck on Gruber Road, adjacent to Knox Street on post, killed Pfcs. Shelly Monique Brown and Desmon Desmond Morrisette and Spc. Alexander Llewelyn Thomas. Barrow and Pfc. Tashara Nicole Bell were injured.
All five were assigned to the 108th Air Defense Artillery Brigade at Fort Bragg.
