Soggy Friday expected to give way to dry Saturday
Triangle residents with Friday night plans should consider taking an umbrella but Saturday should largely be dry.
Posted — UpdatedWRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said the rain that started early Friday will slowly subside.
"If you're heading out tonight, make sure you have the rain gear with you," he said. "And keep it with you through midnight."
Saturday looks better -- and drier.
Maze said the day will start out overcast and cloudy, but it should largely be dry and sunshine could manage to break through the clouds.
"It will be dry for your Saturday and certainly warmer than what we had Friday," he said.
The high temperature should top out in the low-to-mid 60s, Maze said. The overnight low should range in the 40s.
The area's reprieve from the rain will be brief.
"It's a one-day wonder," Maze said.
Maze said a storm system in California will make its way to central North Carolina sometime on Sunday.
"Most of it comes late on Sunday into Sunday night," he said.
Arctic air will move in Monday, and while skies will be mostly sunny, temperatures will reach the 20s overnight Monday and into Tuesday.
