Social distancing prevents public from seeing sea turtle releases
Thirty-five sea turtles will be released back into the ocean over the next week and a half. The turtles have been cared for at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Surf City. Turtle releases from the beach are always very popular, often attended by hundreds of people who enjoy the community celebration. However, with social distancing recommendations team members will release the turtles by boat.

THE TURTLES HAVE BEEN CARED FOR AT THE REHABILITATION CENTER IN SURF CITY. THERE THEY ARE THERE. TURTLE RELEASES FROM THE BEACH ARE ALWAYS VERY POPULAR.
