Soca Raleigh, first restaurant impacted by COVID-19, reopens
After a four month closure, a Raleigh restaurant linked to the first case of COVID-19 in our state is reopening its doors.
Posted — UpdatedSoca Raleigh, located at the corner of Clark Avenue and Oberlin Road, posted a video to Facebook on Wednesday announcing their comeback.
Before restaurants across the state closed for indoor dining, Soca shut down for cleaning in early March 2020 after the first local confirmed case of the virus was traced back to the business.
Soca was the first restaurant associated with COVID-19 in Wake County. During the last week of February, a diner who ate there tested positive for the virus.
The restaurant reopened in June after shutting down during coronavirus but closed again in December when owners say COVID-19 relief aid ran dry.
On Wednesday, Soca opened for dinner service. It will operate Tuesday through Thursday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
