Snow reschedules, delays some COVID-19 vaccine appointments

Morning and afternoon appointments for a second-dose clinic at Nash Central High School were postponed due to road conditions in the parking lot and around the school. Anyone impacted by the snow will get an automated phone call with instructions for a new appointment, officials said.

Plans will not change for anyone scheduled to receive a vaccine on Friday.

In Franklin County, a clinic at the Public Health Department was delayed until noon on Thursday. Appointments are required.

A vaccine clinic at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill opened one hour late on Thursday, at 9 a.m. instead of 8 a.m. Spokesman Alan Wolf said staff members were able to reschedule those early appointments for later in the day.

According to Wolf, the clinic still expects to vaccinate nearly 850 people on Thursday. The Friday Center has administered more than 10,000 first doses of vaccine since it opened on Jan. 11.

WakeMed also delayed its vaccination appointments Thursday morning but notified people who were impacted.

Duke Health made no changes to their schedule and asked people to keep appointments if possible.
