— Rangers at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Gatlinburg, Tenn., are helping with the search for a missing Cary man.

Rangers said Wednesday that Christopher Lee Cessna’s car was found in a parking lot there.

Family members reported Cessna missing on April 27.

Rangers are mounting a search from Newfound Gap along the Appalachian Trail and connecting trails.

Park officials said that Cessna had been despondent and that a handgun he owned could not be located at his residence.

Anyone who may have seen Cessna is asked to call the Great Smoky Mountains National Park at 865-436-1230.
