DUBLIN, N.C. — A portion of N.C. Highway 41 was briefly closed Wednesday after smog caused visibility problems in the area.

Officials said the smog came from a combination of morning fog and smoke from a swamp fire in the area.

N.C. 41 between N.C. Highway 131 in Bladen County and Sibley Road in Robeson County was shut down. It reopened later in the morning, but officials expect it to be closed Thursday morning for the same reason.
