Small plane crashes in Brevard; no injuries reported

A small plane crashed Thursday evening on the soccer field of Brevard Elementary School in Transylvania County, authorities said.

BREVARD, N.C. — A small plane crashed Thursday evening on the soccer field of Brevard Elementary School in Transylvania County, authorities said.

No one was injured. 

The single-engine Cessna 182 aircraft lost engine power around 4:40 p.m., according to a Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman.

The pilot – a Fort Walton Beach, Fla., man – took off from the Paulding County Airport in Georgia and was headed to Roanoke, Va.
