A small aircraft crash in Franklin County Saturday afternoon has sent a 16-year-old pilot in training to WakeMed.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, N.C. — A small aircraft crash in Franklin County Saturday afternoon has sent a 16-year-old pilot in training to WakeMed.

Emergency responders were called to the scene at Crooked Creek Airport on Swetts Drive north of Zebulon around 3 p.m.

The teenager was rushed to the hospital after losing control of the glider that crashed into a small plane at an airport.

Troopers confirm the glider crashed into an Air Tractor turboprop plane.

Both aircraft had minor damage.

According to officials, the teenager has only minor injuries.

The FAA is investigating.
