Sliver Alert issued for Greene County man

RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert Friday morning for a missing Greene County man.

Stevenson David Roberts, 34 is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Roberts is described as a white man standing about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 190 pounds. He has short brown hair and brown eyes and also has a cross tattoo on his left forearm.

He was last seen wearing camouflage pants, a shirt and a hat. Authorities said he is believed to be wearing black boots and glasses.

Roberts was last seen at 1233 Appletree Road in Stantonsburg, authorities said.

Anyone with information about Roberts should call the Greene County Sheriff's Office at 252-747-3411.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
