Sky 5: Protesters march in Raleigh
For a third night, protesters gathered in downtown Raleigh in response to the death of George Floyd.
uh, I'm here. I'm talking to him. Channel two, Channel 212345 Yeah, I'm here tomorrow night. So if we stay on that just to the right of the Wells Fargo build now, just them right down to Yes, we're going live in just a matter of minutes. I believe I'm talking to you. This is Chad. 123 30 seconds. This is perfect. Hey, Deborah, We just got back on saying just a few minutes ago, it is eight oclock. Curfew has taken effect. What? 23 Hello? Yes, I was just going to say it is eight oclock and the curfew has taken effect on, uh, there are protesters on the ground who are defying the order, and it appears there not believing. So there looks to be about 75 to maybe 100 people there on the ground. As you can see, there being greeted by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the state Capitol police and members of the National Guard are guarding the Capitol grounds. We haven't seen any other protesters around the area. Up and down Fable Street. This is pretty much where they've all congregated at the south entrance of the state capital there, hanging out on the streets there, holding signs and being peaceful at this point. But we will see how the evening goes and see what happens. You. Do you? I'm a I'm good. Is how we patrol up again. No, you're good. Sorry. A big deal. It's probably this, uh, this thing. Hold it. Hold it right here. The top of this lead. Oh, we can stay on this out of you all. Wherever you want to go. I don't care. Quick Chop channel? Yep. Got it Now. Hundreds. Ah, yeah. We're good with that. Uh, you ask audio to make sure they got a mic check. Make sure I'm OK. For some reason, there's the audio. Didn't work last time. I don't know if it was on my anger on Elysium. 12345543211234554321 Helu, Helu. Helu. Helu. Helu. Okay. Thank you. Never. We have seen several. The protesters leave the site here at the Capitol. We've seen police cars come through. As you can see, there's been police cars moving through right now. The protesters have taken a seat here at the Capitol steps. Aziz have the National Guardsmen at the front steps of the Capitol, so the posture is far different from last night, where people were on heightened alert. People were moving about. It is a much different scene tonight than it was last night. We have ST National Guardsmen covering several of the local buildings around downtown. The two buildings you see here in the front foreground of the capital. This is the North Carolina State Supreme Court building, and next door is the Court of Appeals building. Both buildings are being guarded by the National Guard, and everything is baseball at this point.
