RALEIGH, N.C. — Those in central North Carolina should look forward to pleasant, warm weather on Easter Sunday.

While you will definitely need a jacket if you're headed to a sunrise service, the day will quickly warm up into the high 60s and low 70s.

"Today's nice weather will continue into Sunday with a few more clouds, but overall it's going to be beautiful," said WRAL meteorologist Aimee Wilmoth.

On Sunday, temps will begin in the mid 40s around 7 a.m. for Easter church services and rise through the day to about 72 degrees.

Wilmoth said the day will stay dry for Easter eggs hunts.

"Tomorrow it will be pleasant and great for time outside," Wilmoth said.

A slight chance of rain will creep back into the forecast on Sunday night and into Monday.

Wilmoth said the greatest chance for rain next week will be on Wednesday, but overall the week looks sunny and mild.

Pollen problem

Weeds and grasses registered moderate pollen levels on Saturday, but levels for trees — especially pine, elm and oak — shot up ahead of the Easter.

"If you're an allergy sufferer, it's not necessarily that yellow pine pollen that really gets to you, but a lot of other allergens are out there at the same time, causing some real problems for a lot of folks," said WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.
