DURHAM, N.C. — Six students were on board a Durham school bus that collided with a car Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened on Red Mill Road, near Interstate 85.

State Highway Patrol troopers said a car tried avoiding a braking vehicle in front of them and went into the other lane. The driver then ended up hitting the front corner of the school bus, according to troopers.

A car was seen flipped over in a ditch at the scene.

No one was injured in the crash.

A spokesman for Durham Public Schools said two of the students on the bus were from Spring Valley Elementary and four students were from Glenn Elementary School. Students were either picked up at the crash site by parents or taken to the School for Creative Studies to be picked up.

Troopers said the driver was charged with failure to reduce speed and driving left of center.
