Six people injured in Chatham County wreck

Paramedics transported six people to the hospital following a wreck Saturday afternoon in Chatham County.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Paramedics transported six people to the hospital following a wreck Saturday afternoon in Chatham County.

According to the state Highway Patrol, Shaunita Massey, 28, of Tobacco Road in Pittsboro, lost control of her vehicle while traveling west on Jack Bennett Road.

The vehicle hit a car traveling east at about 2:15 p.m.

Massey and her children, Davosea Dawson, 10, Makayla Miller, 8, and Damarius Miller, 4, were transported to UNC Hospitals for treatment of injuries.

The driver and passenger in the other vehicle were taken to Rex Hospital for back injuries. Their names were not released.

Massey was charged with speeding and not properly restraining a child, troopers said.

Massey and Dawson were listed in good condition. The conditions of the other victims were not available Saturday evening.
