RALEIGH, N.C. — Both lanes of Six Forks Road that carry traffic into downtown Raleigh were closed due to a water main leak Friday morning, said a spokesman for the city's Public Utilities Department.

John Boyette said that inbound lanes of Six Forks Road were closed between Anderson Drive and Manocrest Court. He urged motorists to avoid the area.

Inbound traffic was merged into the turning lane to pass through the work area. Outbound traffic was not affected.

Boyette said that crews completed repairs and the road was reopened around 12:30 p.m. No customers lost water service.
