Sip and help: Cocktail series benefits TLC, the Tammy Lynn Center
What if I told you that you could hang out at an eclectic bar in downtown Raleigh, and sip (or slurp, not judging!) on a yummy cocktail while simultaneously helping kids and families in the Triangle area, all while keeping your bum on the barstool?
Posted — UpdatedDazey and I stopped by to chat with TLC director of development, Alyson Stoffer, who shared with us all the many ways their center provides support to over 700 families in the area: “We were founded as the Tammy Lynn Center, but have recently rebranded as ‘TLC,’ which a lot of people don’t know, but we have been helping families for over 50 years.”
TLC offers all-inclusive pre-K programs, childcare services and a before- and after-school program. TLC also empowers adults with and without disabilities to stand in their own power – monitoring and guiding them through interpersonal skills and increasing their independence.
Kevin Barrett, the founder of Dram & Draught, is determined to give back to the community as a local business owner.
“We have worked with TLC for over 10 years on other partnerships, and we love to help out and give back to the community however we can. It’s a responsibility and duty as a local business owner,” he said.
The collaboration is also a great way to introduce local organizations to Dram & Draught patrons, who might not have known about their mission, needs and other ways to get involved.
Each season, Dram & Draught will feature a new signature cocktail with proceeds benefiting a different local organization.
The Lavish Living cocktail will be available until mid-June, when they will introduce a new summer cocktail.
Have an organization that you think should inspire the next cocktail? Shoot Kevin a note at Cheers@DramAndDraught.com and let him know!
