Single-vehicle crash kills one, injures two in Fayetteville

Fayetteville police said one person was killed and two others were injured in a single-vehicle accident Friday night.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police said one person was killed and two others were injured in a single-vehicle accident Friday night.

Police responded to Cliffdale Road near Offing Drive around 11:45 p.m. Officials said a preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle was traveling east on Cliffdale Road when it left the road and struck a tree. Police found a passenger in the vehicle, Chukeem McDougald, 21, of the 800 block of Rembrandt Drive, who was pronounced dead.

The driver and another passenger were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A fourth person in the vehicle was not injured. No names were being released pending notification of next of kin.

Police identified the driver as Jessica M. Hodges, 21, of the 600 block of Crown Ridge Court. The other injured passenger is Miraih J. Sparkman, 21, of the 5200 block of Morganton Road. The person who wasn't injured was identified as Diamond Elliott, 22, of the 6700 block of Battle Road.

Cliffdale Road was closed between Offing Drive and Regency Drive in both directions as officers investigated.
