A single-car crash knocked out power Saturday night to about 1,140 homes in Raleigh and saw authorities directing traffic at the intersection of Lynn Road and Sandy Forks Road, according to authorities.

Authorities said the driver was traveling southbound on Sandy Forks Road just after 7 p.m. when the car ran off the road and struck a utility pole.
Police said the intersection would remain closed for some time and recommended that drivers avoid the area.
The driver of the car was taken to the hospital and was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
