LONDON (CNN) — British singer Cliff Richard has won a High Court privacy case against the BBC over its coverage of a police raid on his home, according to court documents.

He has been awarded £210,000 ($273,734) in general damages, with a further hearing to decide what special damages he should be awarded.

Richard sued the national broadcaster over coverage of the police search at his home in August 2014, which took place after a sexual assault allegation. Richard denied the allegation and he has never faced charges.
