Pittsboro County authorities said Saturday morning that the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons cancelled its Silver Alert for Joseph Robert Elmore.

<b>PITTSBORO, N.C.</b> — UPDATE: Pittsboro County authorities said Saturday morning that the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons canceled its Silver Alert for Joseph Robert Elmore.

Pittsboro County officials were searching Friday night for a missing 14-year-old teen who is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Joseph Robert Elmore, who was last seen at 50 Chatham Forest Drive in Pittsboro.

Elmore is 5 feet 9 inches and about 140 pounds. He has medium length red hair and blue eyes.

Authorities said Elmore was last seen wearing a faded red and green tye-dyed shirt with black skinny jeans and black Vans tennis shoes with green laces.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Elmore is asked to call the Pittsboro Police Department at 919-542-2911.
