Margaret Alston Ellis was found safe Saturday morning after a Silver Alert was issued Friday night.

<b>HENDERSON, N.C.</b> — A missing Vance County school board member was found safe Saturday morning.

Law enforcement officers found Margaret Alston Ellis, 86, at a Harris Teeter in Greenville.

She had last been seen on Radio Lane in Henderson traveling toward Windsor.

She was elected to the school board in 1990 and represents District 6, according to the <a href="https://www.vcs.k12.nc.us/Page/392" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vance County Schools website</a>.

She retired from Henderson radio station WIZS.
