CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons has issued a Silver Alert for a missing endangered man.

Dan L. Frazier, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment, was last seen at his Cedar Terrace Road house in northern Chatham County.

The 49-year-old is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Frazier is possibly driving a tan 2002 Toyota Echo with N.C. license tag PYJ-9104.

Anyone with information about Frazier should call the Chatham County Sheriffs Office at 919-542-2911.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
