RAEFORD, N.C. — The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons has issued a Silver Alert for a missing endangered woman.

Shama Satish Naylor, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment, was last seen at the Open Arms Nursing Home, 612 Health Drive in Raeford.

The 29-year-old African-American woman is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 275 pounds. She has brown hair and eyes.

Naylor was wearing a black and silver T-shirt, stone-washed jeans, white socks and black shoes. She may be driving a dark blue, 2004 Chevrolet Ventura.

Anyone with information about Naylor should call Capt. John Kivett at the Hoke County Sheriff's Office at 910-875-5111.

Developed in 2007, the Silver Alert system notifies the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
