(AP) — Rescuers raced Saturday to search for survivors and help hundreds of people left homeless after a powerful tornado cut a devastating path through Mississippi, killing at least 25 people, injuring dozens, and flattening entire blocks as it carved a path of destruction for more than an hour. One person was killed in Alabama.

Authorities on Wednesday morning issued a Silver Alert for a man who disappeared from a Durham hospital.

<b>DURHAM, N.C.</b> — Authorities on Wednesday morning issued a Silver Alert for a man who disappeared from a Durham hospital.

Sammy Lee Burton was last seen at Durham Regional Hospital located at 3643 N. Roxboro Road. He was wearing a camouflage hat, blue jeans and sneakers.

Burton, 65, is a black man who is 6 feet tall and weighs 200 pounds, police said. He has short, gray hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Burton should call Det. AC Crumbley at 919-560-4427.
