Silver Alert issued for Duplin County teen

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert Friday afternoon for a missing endangered woman, Amber Elizabeth Pherigo.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert Friday afternoon for a missing endangered woman, Amber Elizabeth Pherigo.

Pherigo, 15, is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment. She was last seen at a McDonald's on east Main Street in the Duplin County town of Beulaville and is believed to be heading east on N.C. Highway 24 toward Jacksonville.

She is described as 5 feet, 4 inches tall and 120 pounds. She has brown eyes and short brown hair with blonde and pink streaks. She has a tattoo on her right forearm of a circle with a peace sign and a tattoo on the right side of her abdomen of musical notes.

She was last seen wearing a black-and-white shirt, blue jeans, a black jacket with a fur collar and black tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about Pherigo's whereabouts is asked to call the Beulaville Police Department at 910-296-2150.
