A Silver Alert was issued Thursday night for a 63-year-old Fayetteville woman.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Silver Alert was issued Thursday night for a 63-year-old Fayetteville woman.

Police said Georgia Marie Keitt was last seen at 505 Franklin Street sometime Thursday.

She is described as being black with short black hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds.

Developed in 2007, {{a href="external_link-2556807"}}Silver Alert is a system{{/a}} to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.

Authorities said Keitt was last seen wearing a short-sleeve, dark blue shirt, blue-and-white pants, a brown belt and sneakers.

Authorities believe Keitt may be traveling toward Richmond, Va.
