RALEIGH, N.C. — A Silver Alert has been issued for a Raleigh man who went missing Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities said Jarrell Marquis Jones, 27, was last seen leaving 3908 Iverson St., traveling toward New Hope Road, at about noon.

Developed in 2007, {{a href="external_link-2556807"}}Silver Alert is a system{{/a}} to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.

He is described as being black with short black hair and brown eyes. He is 6 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds.

Jones was last seen wearing a burgundy hoodie, white T-shirt and blue jeans.
