Silver Alert canceled 80-year-old Moore County man

The N.C. Center for Missing Persons canceled a Silver Alert on Tuesday for a missing endangered man, Francis Melvin Humphrey.

SANFORD, N.C. — The N.C. Center for Missing Persons canceled a Silver Alert on Tuesday for a missing endangered man, Francis Melvin Humphrey.

Humphrey, age 80, is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Humphrey is described as a white male with short white hair and hazel eyes. He stand 6 feet tall and weighs about 185 pounds.

He was last seen at 1572 Haw Branch Road in Sanford and may be headed for Virginia in a silver 2003 Pontiac Montana with North Carolina-issued plate DFJ-5098.
