Silent disco, interactive art and slides among new WRAL First Night fun

WRAL First Night Raleigh will include a mix of new attractions and entertainment to help close out 2022.

RALEIGH, N.C.WRAL First Night Raleigh will include a mix of new attractions and entertainment to help close out 2022.

The annual New Year's Eve celebration in downtown Raleigh will begin at 2 p.m. with the children's celebration on Fayettville Street between Morgan and West Hargett streets.

Slides, skee-ball and a Ferris wheel will be available to ticketholders until 11 p.m.

Live music on the outdoor main stage will start at 6 p.m. with the Tray Wellington Band. Around that time, the People's Parade will roll through the streets leading up to the Early Countdown and acorn drop at 7 p.m. followed by fireworks.

Duck The Band and Rebekah Todd will play the main stage followed by Durham performer and headliner G Yamazawa.

Other event highlights include:

A Silent Disco with three live DJs at Artspace at 8 p.m.

Robin Vuchnich's interactive art installations at PNC Plaza

City of Raleigh Medal of the Arts recipient Gregg Gelb with the youth jazz ensemble

Check out the complete lineup at WRAL First Night Raleigh website. Tickets are $12 plus tax in advance via Etix or at certain Harris Teeter stores. Children under 5 years old are admitted to First Night for free.
