RALEIGH, N.C. — Shots were fired Thursday morning in a well-known area of downtown Raleigh.

Officers with the Raleigh Police Department responded to a parking lot in the 600 block of West Morgan St. around 2 a.m. Police could not find anyone with injuries.

There were dozens of officers marking off evidence like shell casings in the parking lot close to Goodnight's Comedy Club.

An officer told WRAL News an argument could have started, then shots were fired and everyone took off.

Police left the scene by 4 a.m. An investigation was underway.
