Durham, N.C. — A man was shot in the arm Tuesday afternoon as he drove in the neighborhood near the Durham VA Medical Center, a police spokeswoman said.
Durham police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said police believe the man, who was hit in the arm, was the victim of a stray bullet. His injury is not life-threatening.
Police responded to a call about shots fired in the area at about the same time.
The hospital was locked down for about 15 minutes as a precaution, according to a statement.
