— The Onslow County sheriff on Wednesday morning said surveillance photos circulated in the search for Mariah Kay Woods, 3, are not the missing girl.

During a news conference on Tuesday afternoon, Sheriff Hans Miller said that crews were working tirelessly to find Mariah.

"We will use every possible means to bring her home," he said. "Every second counts when a child is missing. No piece of information is too small or insignificant."

The FBI shared images overnight from a Morehead City Walmart of a woman and child who appeared to be about the size and description of Mariah, who has been missing since Monday morning.

Mariah is white with light brown hair and blue eyes. She is about 2 feet, 9 inches tall and 30 pounds. The child in the photos, shown only in profile, appeared to match that description, leading law enforcement to share them in their search.

Mariah's mother told the Onslow County Sheriff's Office that she last saw the child at their home, at 2404 Dawson Cabin Road in Jacksonville, on Sunday night when she put the child to bed. She called the sheriff's office around 6 a.m. Monday to report her missing.

Since then, an army of volunteers and law enforcement have flooded the area near that home to look for Mariah.

Miller also asked that the public help with the search, urging anyone who has had contact with Mariah's family since Sunday to call his office.

Anyone with information about Mariah is asked to call the Onslow County Sheriff's Office 910-455-3113 or call 911.
