Sheriff: Man stabbed, killed other man in restaurant parking lot in Greene County

One man was killed Sunday following a stabbing in a parking lot, according to the Greene County sheriff.

MAURY, N.C. — One man was killed Sunday following a stabbing in a parking lot, according to the Greene County sheriff.

Around 2:15 a.m., police responded to the Half and Half Grill located at 3471 N.C. 903 in Maury.

According to the sheriff, Antonia Leon Connor, 45, stabbed Justin Wellington, 30, in the back of the leg. Wellington bled to death, and the sheriff said the cut likely hit an artery.

The sheriff said the two men knew each other, and alcohol was involved.

Connor was charged with murder and was being held at the Greene County jail with no bond.
