Sheriff: Man caught driving with $2.5 million worth of crystal meth in Harnett County

Harnett County authorities found 26 pounds of crystal methamphetamine worth millions inside an SUV a man was driving down the highway last week.

HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. — Harnett County authorities found 26 pounds of crystal methamphetamine worth millions inside an SUV a man was driving down the highway last week.

Eduardo Deaguero was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe on Interstate 95 near Exit 72 when the Harnett County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop. Deputies found the drugs when searching the vehicle, according to a release from the sheriff's office.

Eduardo Deaguero was caught with 26 pounds of crystal meth he was driving with on I-95 in Harnett County.

The North Carolina Department of Revenue valued the meth at $2.5 million.

Deaguero was charged with two counts of trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine and maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance.

Deaguero is in the Harnett County jail under a $5 million bond.
