Johnston County jail mistakenly releases wrong man, finds him again

Smithfield, N.C. — Johnston County jail officials accidentally released the wrong inmate Saturday morning but found him about 30 minutes later, officials said.
The Johnston County Sheriff's Office said the jail mistakenly released the 34-year-old man around 8 a.m. He was in jail for felony possession of cocaine, authorities said.
Authorities found the inmate around 8:30 a.m. a few blocks away from the jail.
