Benson, N.C. — After a "review of the facts and circumstances" surrounding the stabbing death of Timothy Paul Ledford Jr. Tuesday, the Johnston County District Attorney's Office won't charge the teen responsible.
According to the Johnston County Sheriff's Office, a 16-year-old stabbed Ledford, 40, at a home at 1834 Mamie Road around 1:30 p.m. after Ledford got physical with the teen's mother.
"He was beating my mom with a shoe, and then he came at me so then I stabbed him in the neck," the teen can be heard telling an operator after calling 911.
The teen indicated in the call that it wasn't the first time Ledford had gotten violent.
"I can't stand when he puts his hands on my momma," he said.
