Snow in Historical Fontana Village at Fontana Dam, NC

Fontana Village was built in 1940's for the workers and their families to live while they were building the Fontana Dam (2nd Largest in US) There were over 5000 people living here then from Tents to Cabins. It took just under 3 years to build and that in itself is amazing. You never want a fatality in a project such as this. However, for that time area and a project of this size; they had 11 fatalities. The pictures are some of the original buildings. The older Cabin was built in 1875 and was built by one of the earlier settlers here. How do I connect to Fontana Village? My son needed a 3 month internship to graduate from ECU so he discovered this wonderful resort and since been moved to the Recreation Manager. I have major spine issues after 9 surgeries relating to it. I came and the 7+ hour drive is too much so I came in June and love it here. I now am trying really hard to get home as I have been snowed in since Sunday and now they have snow in the East! Feel free to contact me if you need more information on the pictures. Susan Peoples
