CARY, N.C. — Police are looking for a suspect in connection with a sexual assault that happened Friday night in a bathroom of a private school in Cary.

Police Capt. Don Hamilton said Monday that the attack happened around 7:30 p.m. at Cary Academy on Harrison Avenue.

The male victim, who is under age 16, told his parents, who reported it to police.

Although Hamilton said the boy is not a student, he would not say why he was at the school.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect.

Hamilton declined to comment on who that is, fearing he or she might flee before being caught.

Cary Academy's headmaster, Mitch McGuigan, said the suspect was a contract employee of the company that cleans the school.

"I am saddened that this alleged incident took place on our campus," McGuigan said in an email statement. "Our concern is for the alleged victim and the family."
