Rain moving out of the region, leaving a cloudy and cool day

The band of showers was still falling heavy in the Triangle at 4 a.m., but the rain will move out of the area by 8 or 9 a.m. Behind that will be cooler temperatures as the cloud cover remains. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 50s in the Triangle on Wednesday and in the lower 60s in the Fayetteville and Sandhills region.

By lunch, most if not all of the rain will be gone from the Triangle.

The rest of the week will be clearer and sunny. Thursday will be warm, with a high around 71 degrees.

By Friday and the weekend, temperatures will be in the 80s. Saturday will be the hottest day of the week, with a high around 85 degrees, while Friday and Saturday will hover in the low 80s.
