Several People Hurt in Kenly Car Crash

Kenly, N.C. — Two helicopters and four ambulances were called to a multiple-injury car crash near Kenly on Wednesday night.
It happened just after 7:30 p.m. at N.C.Highways 42 and 222. According to the state Highway Patrol, a car turned across Hwy 42 into the path of another car.
One person was life-flighted to Wake Med. Another person from the same vehicle was life-flighted to Pitt Memorial Hospital. The extent of their injuries was not available, however.
The driver of the other car was taken to Johnston Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Highway Patrol said the person driving the car that turned in front of the other was charged with a unsafe movement violation.
