Two cars were stolen from a Raleigh gas station on Dixie Forest Road at the same time on Wednesday night.

According to Raleigh police, there have been a total of seven vehicle thefts in a month from the same Sheetz location.

“I never really thought this would happen, and it never happened to me before. I was kind of shocked and surprised,” one of the victims told WRAL News.

On Wednesday night between 10 and 10:30, a man who did not want to give his name stopped by the Sheetz gas station on his way home.

“The next thing, someone came in through the door saying some cars were stolen outside, that you should go outside and check if your car was stolen,” the man said.

He admits he left his car running with the key in the ignition. However, he says the other vehicle stolen was locked.

“They went away with two cars at the same time, so it tells me that they really know what they’re doing," he said.

The man is a regular at that gas station and said he has never felt unsafe. Now he has a message for other drivers.

“My advice to people is they should really be cautious of their environment and really protect their properties,” he said.

The man says his car was recovered just minutes away from where it was stolen. It was found with all the windows down, parked in front of a house in the driveway.
