Seven charged in string of thefts from Fayetteville cellphone stores

Seven people have been charged in connection with a string of thefts at Fayetteville cellphone stores.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Seven people have been charged in connection with a string of thefts at Fayetteville cellphone stores.

Authorities said the suspects took cellphones, disabled the anti-theft devices and quickly exited stores at the following locations:

  • Verizon Wireless in the 1900 block of Skibo Road on June 19 and July 4
  • AT&T in the 400 block of Ramsey Street on July 2
  • AT&T in the 1900 block of Skibo Road on July 10 and July 16.

Jacob Lee Dickerson, 18, of the 400 block of of Runnymede Drive, was charged with 10 counts of felony conspiracy, four counts of felony possession of stolen goods, three counts of felony larceny and removal of an anti-theft device.

Aumrey Oliver, 17, of the 500 block of Heathcliff Drive, was charged with eight counts of felony conspiracy, three counts of removal of an anti-theft device, two counts of felony larceny, two counts of felony possession of stolen goods, misdemeanor possession of stolen goods and misdemeanor larceny.

Gharen Tarel Terry, 20, of the 800 block of Hilton Drive, was charged with nine counts of felony conspiracy.

Angelina Sherrod, 19, of the 1000 block of Ancestry Drive, was charged with obtaining property by false pretenses.

Desmond Devone Autry, 19, of the 200 block of Alphin Street, was charged with two counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, felony possession of stolen goods and removal of an anti-theft device.

Day’Janara Maria Saunders, 18, of the 200 block of Buhmann Drive, was charged with two counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, two counts of conspiracy and felony larceny.

JhaNyria Tajnae Peterson, 18, of the 100 block of State Street, was charged with obtaining property by false pretenses and felony possession of stolen goods.

Dickerson and Oliver were not in custody Monday and authorities urged the pair to surrender to law enforcement.

The remaining five posted bond and were released from jail last week, authorities said.
