SAINT PAULS, N.C. — Additional security measures are being taken at a Robeson County high school on Monday following rumors of a possible threat.

"There have been some discussions about rumors and a possible threat Monday against the school," officials at St. Pauls High School posted on Facebook. "We will have additional security at school on Monday to continue our focus on a safe and orderly learning environment."

According to a parent of a St. Pauls student, at least 20 police officers were present on campus Monday morning.

Officials have not released details on the alleged threat or what it conveyed.

The added security comes less than a week after a shooter opened fire at a school in Florida, killing 17 students and adults.
