Wilson, N.C. — A man accused of stabbing a Wilson man to death two months ago is behind bars and awaiting legal action.
U.S. marshals arrested Reggis Deon Ballard, 27, on Tuesday after they found out he was staying in the Bethel area, they said. They found him about 7 a.m. at a house in the 200 block of Crawford Street and took him into custody without incident, they said in an announcement.
Ballard was taken to the Wilson Police Department and charged with first-degree murder in the death of Donnie Morgan, 52, of 3287 White Oak Lane in Bailey. Police found Morgan in a burgundy 2005 Chevrolet Equinox at about 4:30 a.m. Aug. 18 in the 900 block of Carolina Street.
Police said that Morgan was fatally stabbed and that robbery was likely the motive.
Wilson police identified Ballard and Leon Dechase Moore as suspects. Moore was arrested on Oct. 14.
