Second suspect arrested in Spring Lake murder

Spring Lake police made an arrest Thursday afternoon in the May 1 shooting death of man in front of his home.

SPRING LAKE, N.C. — Spring Lake police detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of a second suspect in a murder that happened earlier this month.
Winfred Alfonza Worthy, 62, was shot multiple times at 604 Mont Dr. and pronounced dead at the scene.

Theodore Lee Jr., 27, was already confined to the Wayne County Detention Center on an unrelated incident for attempted first degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police made the first arrest Thursday afternoon in the May 1 shooting death of man in front of his home.

Police arrested 24-year-old Joseph Davone Murchison in the 100 block of Fleishman St. in Fayetteville around 3 p.m.
