ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — A second person has been arrested in the murder of a pizza delivery driver in Roanoke Rapids.

Deputies arrested Nashown Laquan Alston, 26, from Roanoke Rapids on Thursday. He's charged with murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is being held under no bond. His first court appearance is July 31.

Alston is charged in the shooting death of James Anthony Lee Jr., 21, a Domino's delivery driver. The shooting happened in the Branch Avenue area of Roanoke Rapids.

Alston joins Cortez Powell, who was charged Wednesday with the killing and robbery of Lee. Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp made the announcement of the first arrest Thursday morning in a press conference.
