Second man charged in shooting death of pregnant Fayetteville woman

A second man was arrested Wednesday in the fatal shooting of a pregnant woman in Fayetteville two months ago, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A second man was arrested Wednesday in the fatal shooting of a pregnant woman in Fayetteville two months ago, police said.

Sincere Perry, 19, of Fayetteville, was charged with first-degree murder, murder of an unborn child, attempted first-degree murder, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of first-degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony conspiracy, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and injury to real property. He was being held without bond in the Cumberland County jail.

Officers responding to a report of gunshots in the 800 block of Ridge Road on May 17 found 22-year-old Ashanti Bellamy and a man wounded in the street. Bellamy, of Spring Lake, and her unborn child, were pronounced dead at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, while the man, whose name hasn't been released, was treated and released.

Raymond Earl Holmes Jr., 41, of Fayetteville, was arrested 10 days later in connection with Bellamy's death.
