Durham police believe two deadly shootings are related

No arrests have been made following two deadly shootings in Durham on Wednesday night.

DURHAM, N.C. — No arrests have been made following two deadly shootings in Durham on Wednesday night.

Police believe the two homicides are related.

Officers with the Durham Police Department responded to a gunshot wound in the 200 block of Cushman St. at approximately 5:50 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a 38-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS responded, but the man was pronounced dead on the scene.

While investigating the Cushman Street shooting, officers were notified that another victim, whom police identified as a 40-year-old man, was suffering from a gunshot wound in the 500 Block of Hardee St. Officers and EMS responded but the victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

This investigation is ongoing.
